Update on the Drs. appts and our weekend

Liam--Poor guy had a rough day.  His hearing test was normal, however, I am looking into a second opinion.  I know for SURE he heard the loudest sound, but after that he figured out the pattern.  In addition, the audiologist was calling him Blake for half of the test.  She has tested him all 3 times and just is not too good with kids.  Liam does not like anything touching his ears these days--understandably so after all that he has been through.  When she placed the probes in his ears, he got upset and she liked right at him and said "It is not THAT bad!"....seriously, lady???!  He is two.  Not a big fan and left not feeling so confident about the results, so we are looking into another test by a different audiologist.  In addition, he had wax in his tubes so they needed to lay him back on a table, while I held him down, and poke with VERY pointy metal sticks in order to loosen the wax and drain it out.  When will this kid catch a break?  And then he had not an EAR infection, but an infection ON the tube.  So we had to do eardrops all weekend which he also HATES!  :(  Just want my little buddy all fixed up.  I will say his last two colds were VERY mild and went into no other infections.  THAT is a big change!

Rowan-Her hips are doing GREAT!  They want the range of motion at 25 by one year of age...she is at 24 in one hip and 28 in the other!!!  And another huge jump from her results a few months ago!!  All that chub is helping the bone and socket fuse together maybe??!  So happy about this!

Our weekend was very relaxing.  Nothing much to report...a bday party Saturday morning.  Liam had so much fun.  Saturday afternoon I went for a pedi and we had some wine and a yummy dinner on the grill Sat. night.  Sunday, we went to church at 11:30 and then to Texas Land and cattle for lunch---LOVE that place.  Rowan ate some cereal in the highchair at the restaurant for the first time...it was so cute and she was all smiles!  Felt like a big girl.  Sunday afternoon we did naps and then grilled some burgers and watched the Red Carpet.  We were all in bed asleep by 9 pm!  Awesome weekend!

Yesterday morning, we had an Elmo Playdate here and it was lots of fun.  Liam was so excited to have kids here and he was sooo good.  Rowan was awake the whole time and loved being in her jumper watching all of the big kids.  Great morning!!!  I had lots of pictures but something is going on with the camera AGAIN!  ugh  Maybe some at a later time...Happy Tuesday!

Nothing much...just loving my babies!

I mean can we say rolls????!  I did cut back to one meal a day (food that is)  not because I want to put her on a diet ;) but she started spitting up and was very fussy...so we are doing rice cereal only each day at 5 pm...she LOVES it! So funny Liam HATED it!  We will just save the baby food we've made for 6 months.
She is lucky she is so cute because she has been very high maintenance this week...ALWAYS wanting to be held and occupied and screaming bloody murder in her carseat...dada said she sounded like a dying cat.  yep!  sums it up!  But she is still my chunky little angel and I feel so lucky to have her!
You have your follow up tomorrow for your hip.  Just another xray.  You are so strong, I am very certain everything should still be fine.
Well there is my sweet boy--never standing still and jumping on the couch.  He was so excited about wearing this new shirt this morning and just kept saying "ball!"...speaking of talking (ha!)...you took a huge step today buddy!  You answered a question!!!  When the checkout girl at Market Street asked you how old you were, instead of staring at her, you said, "TWO!!!"...wow mommy was so proud of you!  We have been having speech once per week for 4 weeks and you have really warmed up to Ms. Kari and Ms. Kindall.  They are so sweet with you and give mommy and daddy lots of good ideas to use on a daily basis.  So happy we had you tested and that we are doing this early.  I can already see improvement!!!  And you have been super, super pleasant to be around and you are an amazing big bro.  Always looking out for Rowan or "baby".  You have a hearing test tomorrow, so I am anxious to see how that turns out.  (why do I plan all drs. appts. on the same day??!)  I love you with all of my heart!

Mommy is having a little get together tonight which I am very excited about!  About 10 girls, cute bags, wine, and snacks...way to end the week!  Happy Thursday!

Liam's First Pet Melmo

We decided that Liam needed another special treat for being SUCH a great boy recently!  I seriously am SO proud of him and cannot even explain how pleasant he is to be around.  Super helpful, lovable, and just plain sweet!  He absolutely loves dogs but we are just not ready to take on that responsibility right now.  So, we went to PetCo yesterday afternoon and let him check out all of the fishies.  He was so cute looking at all them and seemed really excited.  We ended up talking to a worker and they recommended a beta fish as a "starter fish".  They had all different colors and Liam picked red...so of course, we had to name him "Melmo" after red Elmo.
Here is the new addition to our fam...just hope we can keep him from going belly up.  yikes!

on a side note...I finished my 5K yesterday!!!  in the rain and all, I got broke 30 minutes---29:30 to be exact and got 13th out of 60 in my age group!  Such a sense of accomplishment and I am really finding running to be some great ME time and stress relief!
