Random Naptime Thoughts for Thursday

Just relaxing while my little man is napping.

Here is what I am thinking about:

How big my little boy is getting.  Yesterday, he went to school with NO tears.  He played nicely and ate all of his lunch.  He even tried to comfort another little guy who was upset and crying on the floor by giving him a toy boat.  SO SWEET!  Today, he said two color words for the first time--yellow and blue.  Ever since the procedure, he has been adding 2-4 words per day his vocab.  The other day it was puppy and potty.  And yesterday he identified the #s 1, 2, and 3 by sight and named them.  It is just amazing and makes me really thankful we went ahead with the surgery last week.  Already so much progress!

When will my little girl be here?  Since Monday, I have had no pressure or pain whatsoever.  Today was the day Liam was born.  38 weeks exactly.  Looks like she is rather comfy in there and will be her mama's October baby...but EARLY October would be FABULOUS!  Drs. appt. in morning and I am going to have him check me to see if I am dilated.  So excited now!

How lucky I am!  I have a wonderful hubby, a healthy, happy son, and a beautiful daughter on the way.  The perfect family!

Where do I think we will be 5 years from now?  Well, Liam will be almost 7 and the baby will be almost 5.  I will be nearing the end as a Stay at Home mommy to head back to work after both kiddos are in school.  I cannot wait to look back on this blog to read about all of the fun things we do together in the next 5 years.  Dada will be 39!  YIKES!  and I will be close to it....almost 40?!?!?  Seriously!  OMG!  Will our house in PA be sold?  I HOPE SO!  Will we be in this same house?  That is debatable.  Where will the kiddos be going to school?  Public or private...lately I have been leaning towards private.  What kinds of sports and activities will Liam and baby girl be into?  Liam is playing soccer now, but as of now, he seems like more of a "hands on" type of sports guy than "feets on"  ;)  We shall see!  Will baby girl be a dancer or a cheerleader?  How fun will that be!!!

So many exciting things to look forward to ans so thankful for it all!!!!  LOVE my little family and truly could not ask for anything more.  Happy Thursday!

Waiting on baby :-)

Well, sweet little girl, you are listening to mama and staying put it seems.  We made it through your brother's recovery and dada has two more busy days with work, but we will be more than happy for you to make an appearance this weekend!!!  I am feeling huge today and now wondering if you will be bigger than your brother.  My hands are still numb (which I know typing is not helping!) and I have been pretty tired the past few days, but other than that, I am still feeling good.  I am hosting Book Club tomorrow, Liam has school W and F, and we have a few playdates planned, so let's make it through this week!!  ;)  Daddy has picked out the name Alexandra and mommy may just give in and make him happy.  I would like to call you Lexi, but he likes Alex.  I like that we have a bunch of different ways we can go with it.  And as for a middle name, your Pop picked Morgan and we like it.  Morgan was supposed to be your name anyway, and it flows nicely, so I guess we are letting the men in your life name you.  :-)  Just cannot wait to kiss your sweet face!

Here is what your big bro has been up to...
Will not sit still for a pretty pic  ;)
Running on the hay at McKinney Oktoberfest
Watching the dancers with your dada
Today has been quite a challenging day, Mr. Liam.  You are definitely feeling 100% now, which I am so happy about, but you have been into EVERYTHING!  We went to the mall to get some energy out and we ended up leaving in hysterics.  Mommy forgot the stroller so we tried to "walk" through the mall, but you did not want to stay with me and/or listen.  We tried to have lunch and ended up with spilled milk all over the floor.  At that point, we left and you were not too happy about it. You are sleeping now and I know you will wake up and be my sweet little man again!  Love you always no matter how much you test my patience!!!!  You are teaching me to be a better person.

Wonder if my next entry will be about a new little girl!  HAPPY MONDAY!

First and Hopefully LAST surgery!

Well, it is OVER!  I am so relieved!  Liam-you did a very good job.  You woke up on your own at 6 am, which was perfect since we needed to be there at 7 am.  You were EXTRA happy this morning (probably because dada was home) and we were on the road at 6:30.  Arrived at 7.  Mommy filled out paperwork while daddy and you played with all of the toys in the waiting room.  They had kitchen sets with fake food so you were in heaven!  They took us back to the pre-op area around 7:30.  You played with some more toys and got a spray up your nose that they said was similar to vicatin (sp??)...it did help to calm you down, but we did not like seeing you "out of it" like that.  A nurse carried you back at 7:55 and mommy and daddy waited in a consultation room.  The dr. came in at 8:15 and all was over!  He said you did REALLY well and that it was most definitely a good thing your adenoids came out because they were very large and inflamed.  We heard you crying and choking/gagging around 8:20.  That made mommy cry.  It is so hard to see you hurting.  You had a lot of drainage. In addition,  it can be hard to come out of anesthesia when you are 20 months old--very scary I am sure.  We could not wait to hold you.  We tried a bunch of different things to calm you down, but you were pretty mad.  (your movie, a popsicle, taking your IV out--which you HATED!)..nope you did not go back to yourself until we were home and you were in your pjs having some banana.  You ate the whole banana, a fruit cup, cheerios, and drank some juice.  Mommy gave you tylenol and you were bouncing off of the walls again in NO TIME!  Mommy was SOOO happy to see that!  We went for a wagon ride around 11:45 and I looked back to check on you at noon and you were sound asleep!  LONG MORNING!  So, it is now 1 pm and you are sleeping peacefully in your crib, safe, and hopefully cold and ear infection free for a while!  We love you so much and hope this helps you to breathe easier for a long time!  xoxo

Blogging to Remember!

So, a few of my friends have some amazing blogs that I thoroughly enjoy reading.  Now that Liam is almost 21 months, I realize the little things I remember about his short little life are far and few between.  Hence, this blog.  Where are we right now?
Liam--you will be 21 months in 5 days.  You are 36 inches tall and 31 lbs.  You are growing into such a sweet little boy.  You started a Kids Day Out program on Sept. 9th and today was the first day you did not cry!!!  YAY!  You shed a few tears in the car, but as soon as we got into the building, you ran to your classroom and started playing!  You love the other kids in your class.  Mommy always pictured you as a "leader around your peers", but it is cute to watch you follow around the other boys and girls.  You are very nice to them and have really started to understand the concepts of sharing and helping.  You seem like your mommy in the way you just want everyone to be happy and friends!  I love watching you grow and hope to capture as many of those small, adorable, WONDERFUL moments in our new blog!  Mommy is a little nervous for tomorrow right now...you will have surgery in the morning to have your adenoids removed and tubes put in.  I know it is going to really help you out so you do not get colds and ear infections all of the time anymore, but I cannot help but be nervous for the anesthesia.  You are so strong and I know you will be just fine!

Your baby cousin, Lucas Tyler Sprout was born yesterday!!  We are so excited to meet him in December and cannot wait to give him loads of kisses.  These are the times that being so far away from family is VERY hard.  I just want to be there holding him right now and giving Aunt Kristen and Uncle Jer hugs and congrats.  The family is doing great and everyone is HEALTHY and happy!  Lucas weighed in at 7 lbs 3 oz and was 20 in. long.  :-)

In other news, Baby Blake #2 is coming very SOON!  I will be 37 weeks tomorrow.  Full term!  We are super excited to meet our sweet little girl.  I thought she was pretty comfy in there, but last weekend she dropped very low and I am wondering if she is planning an early appearance!  I would love an October baby, so if she can wait 9 more days, we could have that!!  ;)  We shall see!  This pregnancy has been an interesting one...sickness I had not felt before, some irregular pap smears and tests that were pretty scary, a breech baby until 32 weeks and then again at 35 weeks, carpal tunnel and numb hands, and a nice, ITCHY rash all over my belly!  You were not as active as your brother until recently..not sure if it was because you were head up.  I am anxious to learn your personality and see if you are a ball of energy like Mr. Liam!  The past 10 months have been worth every minute, we feel SO blessed and I cannot wait to meet you...you were supposed to be named Morgan Delayni, but as of right now, we are undecided between 3 names--Rowan Elizabeth (my fave but your daddy does not like it), Kendall Ryan, Morgan Ryan, or Logan Elizabeth...today I thought about Sydney and Kennedy, but we should see if either of those are added to the mix.

Other things going on...Rick and I feel very lucky to have met such good friends in Texas.  My new girlfriends threw me the SWEETEST sprinkle last week and I got the CUTEST girl stuff!  I cannot believe how generous and thoughtful these girls are and I just do not know what I would be doing if I had not met them!  Rick has been VERY busy at work trying to get ahead before the baby comes.  We have been going to some great festivals on the weekends.  September is so much fun in Texas!  Rick also turned 34 2 weeks ago.  I feel like I am talking about someone else when I say that!!!  ;)

I guess that is all for now...I am very excited to get started with this and hopefully I can get a bit more savvy with adding pics and videos.  Happy Wednesday!
