First, I want to thank so many people for your sweet words and thoughts. We have met such amazing friends here and you all are what will get me through this I know!! ;) I was on an emotional roller coaster all weekend...sad, mad, hysterically crying, hopeful, scared...but I know this "admitting" part will be one of the hardest parts of this process. Things really could be so much worse and we are blessed with a very special, beautiful little boy.
So, after discussing my concerns with Liam's case manager, she felt they were very valid and recommended completing an autism screener on March 14th. Results will be either pass or fail. If he fails, we will be referred to a developmental pediatrician who will test and be the professionals to give the diagnosis of autism, if he does indeed have it. From there, we know we will be able to get the support he may need and we will do anything and everything we can to ensure he has the BEST help possible. Unfortunately, it could take 2 months from now to get an appt., but at least we are on the road to some answers.
Thanks again and those prayers are greatly appreciated!!
